CARAG: Organization

The Calhoun Area Residents Action Group (CARAG) is a 501-c4, non-profit neighborhood organization. A nine-member volunteer Board of Directors is elected by the CARAG membership each September at the CARAG Neighborhood Annual Meeting. The Board is responsible for managing the organization and conducting the business of the neighborhood. Any person who lives, owns a business or owns property in CARAG is eligible for CARAG membership, and is eligible to vote on neighborhood issues during CARAG Neighborhood meetings.

CARAG relies on neighborhood volunteers to make the organization strong- especially by participating on committees that deal with neighborhood issues. Here are a list of CARAG Committees:

Committees
Zoning: Meets 2nd Thursday of each month @ Bryant Square Park (3101 Bryant Ave S)
Reviews zoning, licensing & development issues.

NRP Steering:: Meets 4th Wednesday of each month at the CARAG office (3612 Bryant Ave S)
Manages input gathering and creation of NRP Phase II Plan.

Neighborhood Livability & Engagement: Meet 2nd Wednesday of each month at the CARAG Office (3612 Bryant Ave S)
Organizes events, promotes public gardens, and works to communicate and engage CARAG neighbors.

Uptown Neighborhood News Managing Board: Meets 1st Wednesday of each month, location tbd.
Manages the production and distribution of the UNN.
